Answers to some common questions
General Questions
The exhibit features life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, interactive displays, and educational activities about prehistoric life. You can check out all of our dinosaurs here.
There is NO onsite parking inside South Carlsbad State Beach for the event. ALL parking is offsite at Cape Rey Hotel or on Avenida Encinas. Please do not park in the neighborhoods or drive into the campground as there is no parking. Thank you for your understanding.
Jurassic Beach will run from March 27 – April 19, 2026 from 11:30am – 5:00pm 7 days a week.
The exhibit is free and open to the public, no tickets are necessary. However, advanced and limited table reservations will be available for $15. The money generated from these sales will help offset the operating costs related to the production and transportation of the dinosaurs.
Click here to access our Table Reservation portal. Available times are 11:00am – 1:00pm, 1:00pm – 3:00pm, 3:00pm to 5:00pm between March 27 – April 19, 2026.
The Camp Store will be open extended hours throughout the exhibit window. The store will be open from 10:00am – 8:00pm every day while the kitchen will be open from 11:30am – 7:00pm every day as well.
The Camp Store offers a pizza based menu with every type of drink imaginable. Beer and wine are both available for the adults as well. A copy of the menu can be found here.
Out of respect for The Camp Store, please don’t. Food and drinks are available from 11:30am – 7:00pm every day the exhibit is open.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors, please respect the following items:
- children should be supervised at all times
- please do not touch, climb, or throw items at the dinosaur exhibits
- do not enter closed off areas
- please help us clean your table(s) to make the experience clean and enjoyable for all.
Parties and Groups
Birthday parties are welcome but please do not bring in outside food or drinks. Birthday cakes, cupcakes are fine.
Birthday parties are on a first come, first served basis, you can rent a table through the camp store’s website, expect it to be crowded on the weekends.

The dinosaurs will roar on and off through the day. In general they will be more active than not and will be operated by a combination of sensors.
